New intern: meet Jowen!

We recently welcomed a new online marketing intern. Jowen will be joining us as a graduate student and is researching our current communication strategy and how we can improve it. Read this blog to learn more about Jowen! 

Tell us more about yourself

My name is Jowen Teunissen and I am 20 years old. I'm currently in my fourth year of studying Communication & Multimedia Design at the HAN in Arnhem. I still live at home with my mother in Huissen and with my father in Elst, which is close to Orange Juice. 

Besides my studies, I enjoy playing table tennis and kickboxing. I do these two sports on a weekly basis! I also enjoy doing fun things with friends and love music. A fun, and secretly expensive, hobby of mine is going to concerts to sing my heart out. I sometimes do the latter during work as well. As a side job I work at festivals and events in the bar! This is something I really enjoy doing and I get to experience some really exciting things.

Why Orange Juice?

There are different profiles within my study, I chose the Business Media Design profile. This means that I want to go more in the marketing direction. My search for a marketing internship started online. I was looking for a graduate internship close by and came across the HAN business market. Orange Juice participated in this market and I decided to send them an email. Soon I was invited for an interview, the energy and curiosity of the employees towards me immediately appealed to me. I was warmly received and got very excited from the first interview. Soon after the great conversation came the signing moment and I am now officially an intern at Orange Juice.

What exactly will you be doing at Orange Juice?

I will be graduating from Orange Juice. This means that each week I will work two days and the remaining three days I will work on my own research. My own research is about Orange Juice's current communication strategy and how it can possibly be improved. Towards the end of the period, I also want to start implementing my research already.

What are you extremely good at?

This is a difficult question for me to answer but if I had to choose something I would mention my enthusiasm. I am a very enthusiastic person and that means I bring a lot of energy with me. I also like to bring this energy to others. This is also reflected in my work, I am always excited to get to work and like to take on any challenge. 

What makes you happy?

Music makes me very happy, unfortunately I can't make it myself but I love to listen to it. Some of my favorite artists are: Muse, Nothing But Thieves, Olivia Rodrigo, Billie Eilish, Måneskin and I could go on and on. I love going to concerts and also work at the bar at events and festivals. This gives me a lot of energy! 

Where do you see yourself in five years?

In five years, I will have my college degree and hopefully also have my master's degree in communication studies. By then I hope I have found a fun job in marketing.
